September in Naples centres around a major event: the Feast of San Gennaro, the city’s patron saint, which is celebrated on 19 September but offers a series of events and activities throughout the week, encompassing both religious and secular celebrations.

The Feast of San Gennaro is closely linked to the miracle of the liquefaction of the saint’s blood, which you can witness on 19 September at Naples Cathedral; however, alongside this miracle – which attracts both believers and non-believers alike – there are many other events, such as free entry to the city’s major museums and all their exhibitions.

From 13 to 22 September, the Napoli Pizza Village returns – Italy’s biggest event celebrating the art of pizza. A veritable village stretching the entire length of the Via Caracciolo seafront, featuring the city’s finest pizzerias and a packed programme of live events and concerts, all completely free of charge.

Among the top artists performing this year will be: Mahmood, Boomdabash, Enrico Nigiotti, Arisa, Achille Lauro, Malgioglio, Edoardo Bennato, Baby K and many others.
